Another
succesful show
What a day - we raised over £4,000 for the
Charity and I’m sure everyone had a great time. Every year
we seem to have more entries for our classes and this year was
no exception. We raised £600 on the class entries and every
dog had a chance to show themselves off and make their owners proud.
It was really lovely for me to see you all there - old friends
and new ones. There were so many dogs who have lodged with me at
the Sanctuary – happily rehomed - great to see them all so
happy with their new families and new friends who had just come
to spend today with us all getting on so well together: what a
wonderful atmosphere.
The rain managed to stay away until the very last class and although
for us humans it could have been sunnier I think the dogs preferred
the cooler day. As well as the Scurrying where the dogs could demonstrate
their intelligence and speed, we had the famous Richard de Meath,
predicting peoples’ futures - a penalty shootout for all
the budding Rooneys, and a relaxing massage and reflexology therapist
to take your stress away. Added to all this, the Happy Dog stalls
- succulent pies and cakes, jams & jellies, wonderful new book
stall, bric-a-brac and memorabilia - everything you would want
to buy your dog, from coats and boots, to beds and food, and then
of course the raffle.
My wonderful family of volunteers as always did the Charity proud
on the day - I am so lucky to have them and so grateful for their
continued support for everything we do. My thanks also to all you
generous dog lovers who came and shared the day with us and helped
to raise so much money. Our monthly veterinary bills alone are
now well in excess of £5,000, so you can imagine how important
every penny raised is!
I hope to see you all again for another great day in 2009. If
any of you feel you would like to help us on the day or have any
fund raising ideas, I would be delighted to welcome you into my
extended family.
Again my thanks & God bless
Lyn
