Epitaph
to a matriarch
She arrived
at the Sanctuary some 8 to 10 years ago this diminuitive
creature weighing less than a small bag of sugar - almost
hairless, scrawney, found as a stray. Full of her own importance
she immediately inspected the whole Sanctuary, and
then decided, yes, its OK shed stay! From that moment we were
all hers and she ruled us with a rod of iron as the saying goes,

Milly
- Bill Morgan the miracle man Milly came into care
early August 2007. Heavily pregnant and traumatized, having been
found with several others

Milly gave birth to five beautiful puppies and though terribly
timid and afraid, she allowed me to help her and so we established
a bond, read Millys and

The adventures of tiny Tilly
Tilly, a tiny timid, traumatized rough coated
beautiful little Jack Russell, came to the Sanctuary in August
2007 after being found abandoned on the A31 Dorchester Bypass.
Living here with all the other dogs over the following months
presented no problems for her: she loved them all. Gradually
though very hesitantly she began to trust again, though I doubted
I would ever be able to re-home this mixed up little creature. read more about this story via this link >>
Milo walks again
Milo hobbled into the Sanctuary—a beautiful,
affectionate, bumbling, overweight Chocolate Labrador just
nine months old with appalling hip dysplasia. His owners had
been advised that he needed a complete hip replacement*, and
as they could not afford to do that they had decided to put
him to sleep unless Happy Dogs could help. They handed him
over to the Charity and immediately we began putting things
right. read Milos story by following this link >>
