She arrived at the Sanctuary some 8 to 10 years ago this diminuitive
creature weighing less than a small bag of sugar - almost hairless,
scrawney, found as a stray. Full of her own importance she immediately
inspected the whole Sanctuary and then decided, yes, its OK shed
stay! From that moment we were all hers and she ruled us with a
rod of iron as the saying goes, and how we all loved it and her.
She greeted all the new ones that came into care some traumatized,
some ill abandoned ,neglected - she seemed to know their need and
how they all warmed to her. The biggest heart imaginable beat in
that tiny body.
No dog ever showed her any disrespect, to them
all she was "Big Boss" She loved the puppies and would
play with them even when she began to feel her age and in her
way she comforted the old ones that had lost their homes and
famiilies.
She was - well - she wasTitch - unique. We put her to sleep on
New Years Eve 2008 while she still had some dignity and the Sanctuary's
brightest light went out. Her spirit is here, everywhere, but
the hole in our hearts that this tiny little soul has left is
huge,
really huge. Nothing will ever be quite the same again.
No immediate
demands of the Matriarch to be met, which everyone did, just
as a matter of course. We truly miss you Little Titch, all of us,
though mainly me whose every hour of every day you shared.
Whether
in the office, home checking, anything. You had to be with
me and how I loved you. God Bless little scrap and He surely has,
and
thank you for all the joy you bought into our lives from the
moment you came. Nothing can ever fill your space.
Lyn Williams.
