A Grand Day Out
On
sunday 24th february over 60 people and many more dogs attended
the Wilvery Inclosure nr Burley for the first of many Happy Dogs
Sponsored Walks. The event consisted of a walk around either a
short route or a longer 2 mile route, ending up with soup and a
roll. Fine weather and the thought of warm soup attracted many Happy
Dogs supporters and some new supporters who were made very welcome.
The event, some 4 months in the planning, was a total success with
over £1000 being raised to support the work of the charity. It is hoped to run future fundraising sponsored walks, they are
enjoyable for the dogs as well as their adopted owners, and provides
a great morning out with like minded people
who care about dogs and their welfare.
Commenting
on the day event organisers Kit Swaine and Danny
Flaherty said " We were absolutely delighted
with the response, we raised a significant amount of money for
Happy
Dogs and we
are already planning our next event"
Lyn Williams Founder of Happy Dogs said

the work of our charity, thanks to your support we can continue
to
help and re home abused and abandoned dogs, giving them a quality
of life that would not be possible without our support"
